Troubleshooting

PowerPoint 95 Format Issues

A co-worker used PowerPoint 95 to open and edit a presentation that had been saved in “PowerPoint 2003-97 & 95” format. The next time I opened the presentation in PowerPoint 2003, the animated charts wouldn't work.

PowerPoint 95 doesn't support animated charts, so when you saved the file in PowerPoint 95, you lost that feature. There's no way to retrieve it, so you'll have to rebuild the animation from scratch. If you have co-workers who use this outdated format, we recommend that you give them read-only access to the file (perhaps using the PowerPoint Viewer) and ask them to submit their changes to you so you can make the changes directly without damaging advanced presentation features.
