Chapter 35. Planning and Delivering a Pr... > Taking Notes During a Slide Show

Taking Notes During a Slide Show

Besides the free-form annotation capability described earlier in this chapter, PowerPoint also allows you to make formal notes during a presentation by modifying the speaker notes for an individual slide. To do so, right-click the slide in question during a presentation and choose Screen, Speaker Notes. This option opens a pop-up window into which you can type your notes.

TIP FROM

If you're using PowerPoint on a portable computer running Windows XP that supports the DualView feature, you can see your presentation in Normal view on your computer screen while the audience watches the slide show on the second monitor. Using this configuration, you can add slides, change text, revise speaker notes, and otherwise adjust your presentation on the fly, with your audience unaware that you're making things up as you go.
