Viewing Outlook Data in PivotTables and PivotCharts

In Access 2000 and earlier versions, you could view the contents of an Access database as a PivotTable by exporting it to Excel. In Access 2002 and Access 2003, PivotTable and PivotChart capabilities are built directly into Access. You can view any table, query, or form in either PivotTable or PivotChart view to analyze the data. You can also save PivotTable and PivotChart views as Data Access Pages viewable in a browser.

To create a PivotTable view of a query, open the query in Datasheet view and then choose View, PivotTable View. As shown in Figure 38.9, you can drag columns from the Field List to the “drop zones” on the PivotTable canvas to build the PivotTable.
