Modifying PivotTables and PivotCharts

After you create a PivotTable or PivotChart, you can restructure the PivotTable or PivotChart to look different by dragging and dropping fields, or by using the options on the menus or the PivotTable toolbar. You also can change the look or structure of the PivotTable with formatting options (see the earlier section “Applying AutoFormats”).

Caution

Don’t waste your time formatting PivotCharts because when the data is refreshed it reformats the PivotChart back to the default format. Since the inception of PivotCharts, this has always been a huge flaw and it remains unfixed in Excel 2003.
