OLAP PivotTables can display an enormous amount of detail—sometimes too much. For example, it’s hard to see in the promotions analysis in Figure 30.21 what data is really important and what’s just background noise. One of the goals of OLAP is to help you quickly find the hot spots in your data. You can apply Excel features to OLAP PivotTables to zero in on the important information and reveal hidden treasure in your data.
