Chapter 5. Formatting and Printing > Printing a Worksheet

Printing a Worksheet

Although many worksheets will be viewed onscreen, the need to create tangible evidence of your spreadsheet content is undeniable. It’s important to document your work as a backup, as well as for people with whom you share your work who might be without the use of or access to a computer. Some users find it easier to edit a worksheet on paper than onscreen, making notes and drawing on the worksheet to indicate changes in content, placement, and formatting. Printed worksheets also are handy for carrying to meetings, especially if you need to hand out copies to several people.

Printing your worksheet can be as simple as a click of a button, or it can be more complex, depending on what you want to print and how much control you want to have over the content and appearance of your printout. Excel gives you the tools for either approach, most of which can be accessed from within the Print dialog box.
