CPA Tip: Changing Your Company Start Date

After beginning the interview you may realize that you don’t have enough information to provide a complete picture of your company’s financial activity from the start date to the present. Alternatively, even if all the information is available, you may find you don’t want to take the time to enter all the historical information you originally planned to enter.

For whatever reason, you can change the date you chose as the company start date. Remember, the start date isn’t necessarily the date on which your company began doing business—it is the date on which you begin recording your company’s financial activity in QuickBooks.
