Working with Passwords and User Access

If more than one person uses the computer on which your company data is stored, you might want to use passwords to prevent unauthorized access to your data, and to restrict the activities that users can perform with your company file.

When you use the passwords feature in QuickBooks, the person who opens QuickBooks is asked to enter a password before the company file ever opens (see Figure 23.1). QuickBooks provides different levels of password protection, so each user of your company file can have access to different areas of the program.
