Receiving Goods

When you receive inventory items, your QuickBooks records need to be updated so that your listings of available inventory items are up-to-date. When you make a sale, QuickBooks checks against the quantity of items you have in stock and determines whether you have enough items to sell.

You can record the receipt of goods in two ways: goods received before you are billed and goods received with a bill. The processes for entering both types of goods are almost identical.
