Choosing to Track Jobs

Depending on the type of business you have, you might find that you need to keep track of your costs on a per-job basis. Many businesses do this: construction companies, specialty manufacturing companies, architectural companies, caterers, law firms, accounting firms, and so on.

Any type of business that needs to keep track of separate jobs for the same customer can benefit from job tracking. If you never do repeat business for a customer, you probably have no reason to track jobs. Or if you want to reflect each job as if it were a separate customer, you can do that as well, without the QuickBooks Pro job-tracking features.
