Part VII: Appendixes > Using the Help Find Feature

Using the Help Find Feature

The Find part of the QuickBooks Help system goes a step further than the Help index. With the Find feature you can search the text of all QuickBooks help screens for a particular word. QuickBooks displays a list of all help screens that contain the word for which you are searching. In this way, you can discover help screens that contain references to your topic even when your topic isn’t the main topic on the help screen.

For example, perhaps you want to find out how to record the sale of an asset you are depreciating. If you look up “depreciation” in the Help Index, you won’t find any information about selling assets. If you enter “depreciation” using the Find feature, however, you will discover that several help topics include a discussion of depreciation, including one called “Selling a Fixed Asset.”
