Making a Checklist of Items Before You Begin

When you enter historical transactions, you must make your entries in a certain order. For example, if you enter the checks you wrote before you enter the bills that you are paying, you can’t tie the checks to the bills. Also, if you enter your deposits before entering the customer invoices that were paid, a clear record of what the deposited funds represent will not exist.

Therefore, the transactions that occurred in your bank account are actually the last transactions you enter.
