Getting Ready to Collect Sales Tax

If you indicated in the EasyStep interview that you plan to collect sales tax, QuickBooks set up a sales tax payable account for you. This liability account tracks the sales tax that you bill to your customers and is relieved each time you make a remittance of sales tax to the taxing authority. If you already have a sales tax liability account, you can skip this section.
