Chapter 24. Experts and Macros > Using the PerfectExpert

Using the PerfectExpert

In Chapter 22, “Building Documents with Templates,” you learned how to use the PerfectExpert project templates to build specific types of documents. In this chapter, you’ll learn how to use the “generic” PerfectExpert, which can guide you through the creation of all sorts of different documents. You can create documents with tables, columns, bulleted and numbered lists, graphics, shapes, borders, charts, outlines, headers, footers, page numbers, and so on. All the common formatting options, such as changing the margins, choosing fonts, setting tabs, using Make It Fit, adjusting line spacing, inserting symbols, and marking text, are available at the click of a button. You can even get to the document collaboration and proofing tools. In short, “It’s in there.”

To start the PerfectExpert, click the PerfectExpert button or choose Help, PerfectExpert. The PerfectExpert panelappears on the left side of the screen (see Figure 24.1). You may recall from Chapter 22 that you click the panel buttons to choose additional options. The buttons with a down-facing arrow display pop-up menus.
