Project

You probably have users who are fighting the upgrade to WordPerfect 10 because they are afraid they’ll lose all their hard work in customizing the program. Not so. You can transfer almost everything—addresses, macros, QuickWords, toolbars, keyboards, menus, templates, custom dictionaries, styles, labels, and, of course, documents. WordPerfect uses the same file format as version 6.1, 7, 8, and 9, so you won’t have any problems opening and editing documents created in previous versions.

Tip from

Traditionally, Corel has developed a transition guide for people upgrading to the latest version of WordPerfect. These guides are stored in Corel’s Knowledge Base at http://kb.corel.com. You can find them by searching the WordPerfect 10 documents for transition or upgrading.

There is an excellent FAQ on transferring customization from WP 8 to WP9, but it can be used to guide you through the process of upgrading from WP9 to WP10. Some of the paths are different, but the concepts are basically the same. You can see the FAQ on the Corel WordPerfect FAQ newsgroup at news://cnews.corel.com/corel.wpoffice. wordperfect-faq, or on the Web at www.intranet-works.com/WPmoving.html.
