Read and I would like to thank everyone who helped bring this book to fruition. Stephanie McComb, our Acquisitions Editor, is such a pleasure to work with that we actually enjoyed the process of negotiating contracts and submission dates. She cheerfully fielded our many questions and made every effort to put together the best team possible for this book.

Our Project Editor, Susan Moore, did an excellent job coordinating the efforts of the editing team. Her good humor and flexibility allowed us to preserve our individual writing styles while keeping the coverage consistent.

We were so pleased when we discovered that we would be working with Suz Hobbs again as the Development Editor on this book. She is meticulous about details, persistent when she wants something done a certain way, and a real pleasure to work with. We hope we have this same team again when we get together for version 11.

We want to thank the folks at Corel who helped us sort through the questions we had about WordPerfect 10, especially as changes and fixes were developed with Service Pack 2. A special thanks goes to Jody Smyth who acted as our point person, and who never failed to provide the answers and information we asked for.

We would also gratefully acknowledge the kind and generous support of the following Corel C-Techs: Debra Earle, Scott Casey, Charles Rossiter, and Jim Latham. They volunteer countless hours of their time on the Corel newsgroups, helping to answer questions and troubleshoot problems. They don’t quit until they find a solution, or track down the source of the difficulty, and they, along with the rest of the C-Techs, should be commended for their patience and perseverance.

From Laura:

I simply could not ask for a more understanding and supportive family. They try not to roll their eyes when I promise that this project won’t be as time-consuming as the last one. I especially want to thank my husband, Jeff, for doing more than his share of the chores, and for entertaining the children on the weekends so I could hide in my office and work. I also want to extend my warmest thanks to my writing partner, Read. We’re a great team and I’m thrilled we were able to work together again on this revision. I hope we are still doing this when WordPerfect Suite 2010 comes out!

From Read:

No acknowledgment would be complete without thanking those closest to you who support you when you’ve gone into hiding to write. My wife, Sue, watched far too many movies by herself over the last few months. I probably should also acknowledge my kids who made taking on this project necessary. Finally, I was delighted to have the chance to work once again with Laura on this revision project. Not only is she a great team leader, but she’s also as excited about WordPerfect as I am.
