Saving for the Web in HTML

With widespread usage of the Web medium, Visio documents have the ability to be saved in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Web ready image file format support, such as .GIF or .JPG. Once saved in an HTML format, documents are now ready to be opened in a Web browser locally, and are suitable to be published to a Web site or internal Intranet. To save a Visio document to a Web format in HTML:

  1. Choose the File menu and select Save as Web Page…. The Save as dialog box appears with two additional buttons, Publish and Change Title.

  2. Click the Change Title button to change the default title that will be in the resulting HTML Title Tag's Value Attribute. The Title Tag is used to display text of your choice in the browser's Title Bar for a Web page. Figure 2.2 is the Save As dialog box, showing the Save as Web Page features, the Publish and the Change Title buttons. Shown in Figure 2.3, the Set Page Title dialog box allows you to change the resulting HTML page title.
