Chapter 27. Customizing Word > Restoring Default Settings

Restoring Default Settings

If someone else has customized Word on your computer by adding or removing toolbar buttons from Word's built-in toolbars and you do not want the same customizations, you can follow these steps to return each toolbar to its original settings:

  1. Click the Toolbar Options down-arrow at the right edge of the toolbar you want to change.

  2. Choose Add or Remove Toolbars, Customize. Word displays the Toolbars tab of the Customize dialog box, with the current toolbar selected.

  3. Click Reset. The Reset Toolbar dialog box opens (see Figure 27.12).

  4. From the Reset Changes drop-down box, choose the template containing the toolbar you want to reset. Note: When you reset a toolbar in Normal.dot, you reset it for all your documents that use that template.

  5. Click OK.
