Creating an E-mail Template

You create a template for an e-mail message in the same way that you create any other e-mail message. In this case, though, instead of creating the complete message, just create a skeleton containing any standard text, section headings, and tables. To create a message template, you must use Outlook's built-in editor, not Word.

Note

To select Outlook's built-in editor, select Tools, Options, and display the Mail Format tab. Make sure Use Microsoft Word to Edit E-mail Messages is not checked.
