Chapter 32. Using Outlook Securely > Sending Secure Messages on the Internet

Sending Secure Messages on the Internet

Even though the Internet is convenient to use, you might wonder how secure it is and what you can do to enhance the security of your Internet communications. For normal communications, the Internet seems to be at least as secure as postal mail. Although it's not unusual to hear about mail being stolen from postal mail boxes, it's rare to hear about e-mail messages being stolen.

If the messages you send and receive contain confidential information, you should consider enhancing e-mail security by using a certificate. Outlook fully supports the use of certificates.
