Chapter 32. Using Outlook Securely > Controlling Access to Folders

Controlling Access to Folders

Access to Outlook folders differs according to where you store your Outlook items. You can save items in a Personal Folders file or, if you use Outlook as a client for an Exchange server, in an Offline Folders file or in the Exchange store.

Working with a Personal Folders File

There's nothing to prevent anyone who has access to your computer from copying a Personal Folders file. As mentioned previously in this chapter, you can protect all your files by requiring a password to start the operating system. You also can password-protect individual Personal Folders (.pst) files.
