Chapter 32. Using Outlook Securely > Protecting Against Viruses

Protecting Against Viruses

Unfortunately, some people are motivated to cause harm to computers. One of the ways they do this is to create viruses that can be hidden within attachments to e-mail messages. These viruses consist of macros, scripts, and other executable files that run when an attachment is opened. To protect your computer from the damage these macros can do, be very careful about opening attachments to messages.
