Chapter 22. Using Exchange Server for E-mail > Sending and Receiving E-mail

Sending and Receiving E-mail

Sending and receiving e-mail messages using Exchange Server as the mail server is almost the same as sending and receiving Internet e-mail messages. One difference is that, because your computer is permanently connected to the server, you don't have to do anything to send messages from your Outbox to the server, nor do you have to do anything to receive messages waiting for you on the server. Outlook automatically sends messages you create to the server and saves copies of them in your Sent Items folder. Outlook also automatically receives messages waiting for you on the server and places them in your Inbox folder.

→ For information about sending Internet e-mail messages, see Sending a Message.
