Using a Master Category List

Outlook has a built-in Master Category List. You can see this list in two ways:

  • Open an Information viewer that displays items in one of Outlook's folders (such as the Inbox Information viewer) and select Edit, Categories to display the Categories dialog box (the Categories menu item is dimmed and not available if no items are in the selected Information viewer). Click Master Category List to display the dialog box shown in Figure 20.1.

  • Open one of the forms in which you create a new item (such as the Appointment form), click Categories to display the Categories dialog box, and then click Master Category List to display the dialog box shown in Figure 20.1.
