Managing Tasks Accepting a Task 235 Click the Accept button if you agree to accept the task. When you do so, Outlook displays a dialog box you can use to send an acceptance message. You can add your comments to the message before you send it. Enter your comments in the unnamed Notes box in the lower part of the form; then click Send in the form's Standard toolbar to send your response. To send your acceptance without any comments, click the Send Immediately button. Outlook immediately sends your response to the person who offered you the task. In addition to sending your acceptance to the person who offered the task to you, Outlook · Adds the task to your Tasks folder · Makes you the new owner of the task, as you can see if you double-click the task in your Tasks Information viewer to see that task in a Task form You now can double-click the task you've accepted in your Tasks Information viewer to see its details in a Task form. Because you now own the task, you have full access to the information about the task, and you can use the Task and Details tabs to keep that information updated. If the person who offered you the task chose to keep a copy of that task, Outlook automatically updates that person's copy each time you make a change to the information about the task (subject, of course, to your computer being capable of communicating with the computer used by the person who offered you the task). Note If the person who offered the task kept a copy of the task, that person's name appears in the Update List box in the Details tab of the Task form on your computer.
