Setting Up and Using Directory Services

Outlook supports the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) that provides access to Internet directories. An Internet directory is similar to one of your own address books, but provides access to worldwide Internet addresses. You can set up Outlook to have access to various Internet directories and subsequently use those directories in much the same way as you use your own address books. Table 8.1 lists some widely available directory services.
