Setting Up Automatic Journaling

Journaling is initially disabled after you install Outlook. The first time you select Journal in the Outlook Bar, Outlook displays a message box that says ...the Activities tab on the contact item is the best way to track e-mail and does not require the Journal. If you're principally interested in tracking only e-mail, and don't intend to use the Journal, click No in this box so that the Journal is not activated. If you do want to use the Journal, click Yes to activate the Journal. The remainder of this chapter assumes you have clicked Yes.

When you click Yes, Outlook displays the Journal Options dialog box, shown in Figure 12.1.
