Chapter 1. How Outlook Works > Displaying Items in Information Viewers

Displaying Items in Information Viewers

Outlook keeps each type of item in a separate folder within your Personal Folders file or within your Exchange store. For example, all your Calendar items are kept in a Calendar folder, all your Contact items are kept in a Contact folder, and so on.

Note

When you first run Outlook after it has been installed, sample items are automatically installed in some Outlook folders. If you install Outlook 2002 on a computer on which a previous version of Outlook has been used, Outlook 2002 recognizes all previously created Outlook items.
