Using Public Folders

Sharing folders, as described in the preceding section, is appropriate when you want to share information with one other person, or perhaps a small group. When you want to share information with many people, it's better to use Exchange's public folders.

Any Outlook user to whom the Exchange administrator has granted the appropriate permission can create a public folder that resides within the Exchange store. The person who creates the folder owns it and can allow specific people or groups to access it. As with shared folders, the public folder owner decides which permissions each person has.
