Troubleshooting

Folders

If you create several Personal Folders files and neglect to give them specific Outlook names (even though the files have different names within the Windows file structure), Outlook's Folder List will show these files all with the same name—Personal Folders. This presents a problem because you don't know which is which.

To solve this problem, display the Folder List and, within one of the Personal Folders files, select one of the folders it contains. When you do that, you'll see the items within that folder. The items you see should be enough to tell you which Personal Folders file you've selected. Next, right-click the root of that folder to display its context menu, and in that menu select Properties to display the Properties dialog box with the General tab selected. Select Advanced and, in that dialog box, change the name of the Personal Folders file to something that describes its contents (such as Toastmasters). When you close the dialog boxes to return to the Folder List, you'll see that the Personal Folders file now has the new name instead of the generic name.
