Chapter 30. Customizing the Folder List > Activating an Outlook Location

Activating an Outlook Location

The Folder List shown in Figures 30.1 and 30.2 contains several root names. Notice that the icon at the left of one of the root names has a small image of a house superimposed on it. The superimposed house indicates that the root is the default location where Outlook currently saves items. That's of little significance if you have only one root—in that case, only one location exists where Outlook can save items, so you don't need to be shown which location that is.

Creating Additional Personal Folders Files

You can have several Personal Folders files, each containing many folders. In Outlook used as a client for an Exchange server, you always have your Exchange mailbox as a root; in addition, you might have one or more Personal Folders files.
