Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments

Writing the acknowledgments page for a new book is one of my favorite tasks—for two reasons. It's the last thing to be written for the book, so I can heave a huge sigh of relief that the project is almost complete. Also, it's my opportunity to look back over the last few months and gratefully remember the many people who have willingly helped me write the book.

Readers of this book owe a big vote of thanks to the two technical editors, Patricia Cardoza and Milly Staples. They carefully checked and corrected everything I'd written and made many detailed suggestions for additional material. I offer my personal thanks to Patricia and Milly; I prefer to think of them as technical advisors, rather than as technical editors.

I also offer my thanks to many people at Microsoft: To the people who conceived and developed Outlook and to others who've answered my many questions.

Thank you, Stephanie McComb, Aquisitions Editor, for inviting me to work on this book and for guiding me through the process of writing the book from start to finish. Nick Goetz has made a major contribution to this book as Development Editor. Thank you, Nick, for helping me organize and clarify the book, and for all your attention to detail. My thanks also go to the many people in Que Publishing, whose names I don't know, who have performed the miracle of converting my original text into a book in an amazingly short period of time.

As always, I want to acknowledge my gratitude to my wife, Katie, for her support and patience while I've been writing this book. She has been willing to put up with me spending most of my evenings and weekends pounding away at my computer. Her encouragement has made it possible for me to write this book.
