Troubleshooting

Paste All and the Office Clipboard

Q1:Why is the Paste All button on the Office Clipboard grayed out?
A1: When you click the Paste All button, the effect is the same as if you were to paste each item individually, pressing Enter (if necessary) between items. In some cases, the data types are incompatible with the current location of the insertion point. For example, if you've selected a chart or title placeholder in a PowerPoint presentation, you won't be able to paste a collection of text items. In that case, Office disables the Paste All button.

Viewing Three or More Word Documents at Once

Q1:I want to view three Word documents at once, so I can cut and paste data between them, but the document area is nearly impossible to see.
A1: Try disabling any toolbars that aren't absolutely necessary (right-click any toolbar and uncheck the names of the toolbars you don't need). Turn off the horizontal scrollbar and status bar by choosing Tools, Options, and unchecking the appropriate entries in the View tab of the Options dialog box. Repeat for each document.
