Charting Hidden Data

You can maintain a chart's integrity even if you hide the data that the chart references. By default, Excel hides the information in a chart when the underlying data is hidden. Suppose you created an outline that sums up the quarters under the months, as shown in Figure 23.37. If you hide the monthly data, as shown in Figure 23.38 the chart displays only the quarterly totals.
