Chapter 23. Professional Charting Techniques > Using Form Controls with Charts

Using Form Controls with Charts

You might combine form controls and charts for several reasons. Based on a database from which the information is generated, you can use form controls to combine data into a single chart and make the chart active. (To learn more about combining charts with active tables, see Chapter 24, “Using PivotTables and PivotCharts.”)

Figure 23.28 shows an example of a chart that uses option buttons to display the desired data. The user clicks the Wichita Plant button or the Middelton Plant button to change the displayed data in the chart. This combination of chart, tables, and form controls uses a formula to extract information from a large database and condense and display it in a small space. Form controls with charts can become powerful tools for accessing multiple data sets with just one click.
