Excel in Practice

The IF function combined with the AND function can be used as powerful time-management tools. The automated cashflow formula in Figure 12.6 is driven off the timeline and the corresponding table to the left. The formula plots the weekly dollars across the timespan of the project. The function as shown in cell M6 is =IF(AND(M$5>=$G6,N$5<=$H6),$F6,""). The function reads as follows: If M5 is greater than or equal to the date in G6 and the date in N5, which is the next week, is less than or equal to the date in H6, then plot the value in F6 or else plot nothing.
