Understanding Tables and Cells

A Word table is made up of vertical columns and horizontal rows—a tabular format. The intersection of a row and a column in a table is called a cell. A tabular format gives you flexibility to arrange text and graphics in an organized fashion. Tables enable you to enter and work with information in a self-contained grid.
