Chapter 4. Using Internet Explorer Add-Ons > Using Adobe Acrobat Reader

Using Adobe Acrobat Reader

Another extremely useful Web browser add-on is the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat is a tool that is used to convert manuals, books, and other content that has been desktop published to Web content. This allows you to view content in the Adobe Acrobat Reader that looks very much like material that you would see in a printed book.

The Adobe Acrobat Reader is freeware, which means that you can download and use it without a fee. You can download and install the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Adobe Acrobat Reader Web site at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/main.html. Because it is freeware, you are restricted to using it only for reading documents that use its .pdf file format.
