Breaking Links

If at some point, you decide that you want a linked object in your document to remain fixed and no longer be updated by its source file, you can break (or cancel) the link. This does not delete or alter the object; it merely removes the background information that directly ties the object to its source file. The object becomes like any other object that was placed using the Windows Copy and Paste operations.

To break or cancel a linked object, follow these steps:
