Chapter 14. Publishing Projects on the Web > Updating Your Project Web Pages

Updating Your Project Web Pages

With Microsoft Access 2000, it is possible to create a dynamic Web page in which the content is generated by connecting to an Access database and executing a query on the database. The advantage of a dynamic Web page is that that it is not necessary to re-create HTML pages with fresh content, because the page is automatically generated with the latest information whenever someone accesses it.

Because a Microsoft Project MPD file is actually an Access database, you can create dynamic Web pages that query the MPD file to refresh the content of the Web page. Furthermore, you can create a dynamic Web page to update the Project MPD file with the latest information from Project team members.
