The Project_Open Event

It can often be useful to have some code run automatically—for example, when you open a project file. You can accomplish this by using an event. An event is something that is used in most other Office applications as well. In this section you will learn about the Open event. There are basically two types of events as far as Project 2000 is concerned: project-level events and events related to things inside a project—such as tasks. The difference between the two event types is that Project 2000 has project-level events readily and easily available to you for coding. The other events take a bit more work.

An event like the File Open event occurs every time a file is opened and is generated by Project 2000 itself. If you provide code for this event, it will be run every time a file is opened.
