Using Microsoft Project 2000 as an OLE DB Provider

Project 2000 is now an OLE DB provider, albeit a read-only provider. That means you can read the current project data with another application, thus making it possible to integrate project data across the organization. However, you can't modify the Project data with the OLE DB client. For example, you can use Microsoft Access Data Access Pages to build dynamic reports that allow the viewer to drill down into the current project data. Creating this link occurs entirely within the client application (for example, within Microsoft Access). Your Project 2000 CD has the documentation you will need for accessing the Project data in the following HTML document:

<CD>\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE\1033\OLE_DB.htm
