Troubleshooting

Outlook's abilities to work remotely mostly work quite smoothly. However, that's not always the case. Problems can cause painful headaches.

If you're at a remote location and find that you can't send or receive e-mail messages, the most likely reason is that your server is down, or there's some interconnection problem. To be prepared for this type of problem, set up and test Remote Mail while you're at home base. That way, you can get assistance from your local administrator before you travel. After getting Remote Mail working locally, try it from your home computer before you travel. Again, if you have problems, you have a local resource to help you solve your problems.
