Chapter 30. Using Microsoft Mail for E-mail > Using Microsoft Mail Remotely

Using Microsoft Mail Remotely

The previous pages of this chapter are based on the assumption that you and other workgroup members connect to the Microsoft Mail postoffice by way of a LAN. You can also set up a Microsoft Mail postoffice so that people can send and receive e-mail messages from a remote location using a dial-up connection. To do so, the computer that contains the postoffice folder must have a modem that's set up to answer incoming phone calls.

→ The Microsoft Mail postoffice must be set up to work with remote mail; see Setting the LAN Configuration Properties
