Using a Master Category List

Outlook has a default Master Category List. You can see this list in two ways:

  • Open an Information viewer that displays items in one of Outlook's folders (such as the Inbox Information viewer) and choose Edit, Categories to display the Categories dialog box (the Categories menu item is dimmed and not available if there aren't any items in the selected Information viewer). Choose Master Category List to display the dialog box shown in Figure 21.1.

  • Open one of the forms in which you create a new item (such as the Appointment form), choose Categories to display the Categories dialog box, and then choose Master Category List to display the dialog box shown in Figure 21.1.
