Controlling Outlook from Other Office Applications

Just as in previous versions of Outlook, you can control Outlook from VBA in other Office applications; but now you are working with a much richer object model for Outlook. The listings in the following sections illustrate importing Outlook data into Access, Excel, and Word, working with VBA code from these applications.

Importing Data from Outlook into an Access Table

The following Access VBA code imports data from the default Contacts folder into an Access table. You will notice many similarities to the code in Listing 44.10, which exported contact data from Outlook to Access; now that Outlook hosts standard Office VBA, it is easy to transfer large chunks of code from one Office VBA dialect to another.
