Chapter 6. Sending and Receiving Interne... > Creating an Internet Account

Creating an Internet Account

First, you have to establish an account with an Internet service provider (ISP), then you have to add the Internet E-mail information service into your Outlook profile.

Establishing an account with an ISP usually involves choosing an ISP and then making a phone call to that ISP, or using your Web browser to connect to that ISP's Web site. Either way, you'll have to give the ISP your name, suggest a name for your account, provide a password, and agree to some way that the ISP will bill you (the usual method is to provide a credit card number that will be billed on a monthly basis). After you've done that, the ISP will provide whatever information is necessary for you to log on to your account.
