Chapter 4. Sending and Receiving Faxes w... > Using WinFax SE to Receive and Print...

Using WinFax SE to Receive and Print a Fax

If you have set up WinFax SE to receive faxes and Outlook is running with Automatic Receive Fax enabled, WinFax listens for incoming calls that contain the tone identifying a message as a fax. When such a call arrives, WinFax automatically sends an acknowledgment signal to the sender. At that time, the sender responds by starting to transmit the fax. Outlook displays a dialog box similar to that previously shown in Figure 4.16 while the fax is arriving. In this case, the bottom-left corner contains the word "Receiving."

Note

To verify that Outlook is set up to receive faxes, choose Tools, Options, and select the Fax tab; make sure that Automatic Receive Fax is checked. Uncheck Automatic Receive Fax to disable receiving faxes.
