Saving Messages

When you first open Outlook, a Personal Folders file is automatically created. If you're the only user of your computer running Windows 95 or Windows 98, this file is created in your Windows folder and usually has the name Outlook.pst.

If you're using Outlook under Windows NT, this file is created in your Personal folder within your Windows profile and usually has the same name as your Windows logon name. For example, if your logon name is jaldrich, your Personal Folders file is probably C:\WINNT\Profiles\jaldrich\Personal\jaldrich.pst.
