Setting up Dial-up Networking

Outlook uses your computer's modem to connect to your ISP and to send information to, and receive information from, your mail server. The dial-up networking capability within Windows is used to place the phone call.

Note

The information in the following paragraphs is based on the assumption you already have a modem properly installed in your computer. If that's not the case, install a modem before proceeding.
